Because in all reality you probably aren't going to find those things anywhere - at least this side of Heaven.

What we can find, however, is a relationship with a God who is involved with creation. We can also find meaningful relationships with other each other in community as we wrestle and search together on our journey.

Theology is not the search for knowledge about God. It is the search for God Godself. It is not so much about "being right" as it is about loving God. We can't ever be 100% certain about what we know about God, because God is wholly other. In other words, God is God - and we are not.

But what we can be sure about is our love for God. We can be assured of a relationship with God. This relationship will not be perfect, because humans are not perfect creatures - but it will be good, because God is good.

Theology is the story of God; the story of people; the story of God moving and the people who have moved with God. We are all part of that story. Or as Karl Barth said "In the Church of Jesus Christ there can and should be no non-theologians."
