Values

Friendship

We want to have authentic friendships with people. We love meeting people, and just being with people. We have no hidden agenda. We want to have the opportunity to love people for them, just because we enjoy spending time with people.

Acceptance

We want to show all people the unconditional love and grace of Jesus without any reservation, regardless of their lifestyle or religious background - past or present. This love has no agenda behind it. The idea is to be a part of people's lives because we truly care for them rather than because we are trying fulfill a religious duty. We want to walk with people through all their struggles as a part of their lives.

Experience

We value people's personal experience, and we want to have the opportunity to share stories with each other about our lives in order to learn from each other. We want people to experience Jesus, not organized religion. We want to help people experience the story of Jesus, and explore how their story and experience might intersect with Jesus' life and teachings.

Social Justice

We believe that the community of God must be engaged with social issues; specifically, we must fight for justice for the poor and oppressed, both locally and globally. We must seek to eradicate intolerance and oppression and the social problems which they bring about: homelessness, racism, classicism, brutality, hypocrisy, ignorance, etc.

Authenticity

We want to "be real" with people. We want people to know that we aren't people who have it all together (nor do we pretend to!); rather we are a group of people who love Jesus and wish to live out his teachings in our lives to the best of our ability. We feel that living the Christian life is more about the journey than it is about the destination.
